PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling pests, enabling to decrease energy required for releasing a chemical agent, improve safety and stably control the pests for a long period by spraying the chemical agent containing an active ingredient as fine chemical agent particles into a space under specific conditions. SOLUTION: This method for controlling pests comprises intermittently spraying a chemical agent containing an active ingredient such as a pyrethroidal insecticide in fine chemical agent particles having particle diameters of <=20μm at 90% in a cumulative volume distribution (cumulative volume percent). The time of spraying interval is 3 sec to 60 min, and the chemical agent is sprayed in an active ingredient amount of 0.01-20 mg per 30 m<3> of a space. The frequency of an oscillation plate is preferably 100-600 kHz on the spraying.
