PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bubble from being sucked into a nozzle of an ink jet head when a cap is removed after stopping of cleaning, thereby adequately executing ink ejection after that. SOLUTION: This ink jet printer 1 comprises an ink jet head 2 that performs recording by ejecting ink from a nozzle. The ink jet printer further comprises a cap 6 capable of covering a nozzle face of the ink jet head 2, a sucking passage 10 connected to the cap 6 and a sucking means 12 which is connected to the sucking passage 10 and performs the sucking during cleaning. A reduced pressure recovery means 15 recovers a condition of reduced pressure of the sucking passage 10 by taking a predetermined time after the sucking of the sucking means 12 is stopped. |
