PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ceramic member undergoing easy working of the inside, having high dimensional stability and used as a precision member by disposing a metallic solder having a specified m.p. and a specified thickness on the inside of cylindrical ceramics or the inside of a hole pierced in ceramics and joining a fitting metal having a higher m.p. than the solder and a higher coefft. of thermal expansion than the ceramics to the inside. SOLUTION: One or both of the joining faces of ceramics and a fitting metal are coated with a metallic solder having a lower m.p. than the fitting metal, the fitting metal is cooled and inserted into the ceramics and they are joined by heating to a temp. between the m.p. of the solder and that of the fitting metal to obtain the objective ceramic member. The m.p. of the solder is 100-500 deg.C and the thickness is <=50μm. Low m.p. Sn, Zn, Pb, In and Bi may be used for the solder.
