PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive recording sheet excellent in printability by forming a freely falling vertical curtain composed of a film of a uniform coating soln. when the coating soln. is applied by a curtain coating system when the pressure-sensitive recording sheet is produced and also preventing the mixing with air bubbles during the preparation of the coating soln., the formation of the curtain or the coating with the coating soln. SOLUTION: A pressure-sensitive recording sheet is produced by a curtain coating method applying a coating soln. containing color former sealed microcapsules to the sheet passed under the freely falling vertical curtain of the coating soln. to continuously run while forming the freely falling vertical curtain. In this case, the coating layer contains an alkylsulfosuccinate and oleic diester of polyethylene glycol as a coating film stabilizer and/or a surfactant and the wt. ratio of both components in the coating soln. is 3:1-10:1.
