PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separate coating method by which it is possible to shorten operating process without depending upon a masking procedure and increase coating deposition efficiency and further, prevent coating dust from flying in a method for finishing the coat in two or more tones with a parting line as a boundary. SOLUTION: In a coating method by which a coating of a given coat color 1 is applied to the entire face of an object to be coated and then a coating of a different coat color 2 from the coat color 1 is applied on the coat color 1 at a specified part of the entire face, a parting line is formed by applying the coating of the coat color 2 with the help of a coating gun tilted at an angle of (θ/2) deg. or more in such a manner that the discharge aperture of the gun is orientated to the specified part from the perpendicular of the parting part at the specified part. The coating gun to be used is of a two-fluid nozzle type with such a performance that the spray pattern open angleθis within the range of 30 deg. and the velooity of atomized particle on a face to be coated is 20m/s or more which indicates excellent rectilinear propagation properties.
