PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of the surface gloss of a medium to be recorded and the light fastness of a formed image and to realize smooth feed properties generating no overlap-feed in the paper feed in a printer without providing a back-coat layer in a medium to be recorded for ink jet recording having a dye fixing layer consisting of an interlaminar compd. receiving and holding a water-soluble dye by intercallation reaction and a binder formed thereto. SOLUTION: In a recording medium for ink jet recording wherein a dye fixing layer 1 consisting of an interlaminar compd. receiving and holding a water-soluble dye by intercallation reaction and a binder is formed on a base material 2, a silicone oil is added to the dye fixing layer 1 in a content of 0.1-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the binder and the dye fixing layer contains a montmorillonite mineral group represented by formula (X,Y)2-3 Z4 O10 (OH).mH2 O(W1/3 ) [X is Al, Fe (III), Mn (II), Ni, Zn or Li, Z is Si or Al, W is K, Na or Ca, H2 O is interlaminar water and m is an integer) as a laminar inorg. polymer having a exchangeable cation. |
