PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the holding and opening of a polished work with only the on-off operation of a cover by locking a pressing means to this cover for charging or discharging the polished work and/or a medium, and securing a temporary supporting means to a polishing vessel proper. SOLUTION: A temporary supporting means 3 is secured to an inner surface central part at both ends in the longitudinal direction of a polishing vessel 1, and a pressing means 5 to a position corresponding to this temporary supporting means 3 of a cover 2, respectively. At the time of polishing operations, if the cover 2 is opened, this pressing means 5 is removed away together with the cover 2, so that a shanked, bar-form or tubular polished work W is mounted so as to be spread out to the temporary supporting means 3, and thus it is set up in the specified position. Next, a specified amount of polishing stones is put thereinto, and then the cover 2 is closed. With this constitution, the polished work W is held with both ends and the occurrence of defectives such as cracks, chipping, flaws and the like is preventable from occurring without colliding with the polishing vessel 1 in polishing operations. In addition, even after the completion of polishing, with the cover 2 opened, the polished work W is easily taken out because it merely rides on the temporary supporting means 3. |
