Improved coatings which incorporate Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA), also known as Trinidad Natural Asphalt or Epure, as a raw material therein. The invention provides improved paints, primers, sealers, epoxies, roofing compounds, sound deadeners, road markings, membranes, and many other coating products. The coatings are environmentally friendly and provide improved characteristics relative to prior art coatings. The coatings are made by combining TLA and at least one other known type of raw material, such as solid carriers (e.g., carbon fibers, etc.), and/or liquid carriers (e.g. water, alcohol, etc.) and/or gaseous carriers (polar gases, non-polar gases, etc.). |
