A LEAK PREVENTIVE STRUCTURE FOR A CASE OF A SURFACE COMBUSTION BURNER

A leak preventive structure is provided for the case or housing of a surface combustion burner which uses a metallic or ceramic fiber mat, or a porous ceramic mat, as the burner element. The case has an open face and the lateral walls of the case are formed by ceramic fibers. The burner element closes the open face and the inside surfaces of the lateral walls are preferably coated or impregnated with a suitable sealant. The structure prevents fuel and combustion air from exiting the case from any portion other than from the combustion face of the burner element.
