PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To illuminate the back surface of a liquid crystal panel with backlight colors different from each other. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device 1 equipped with a fluorescent tube 3 for illuminating the back surface 2a of the liquid crystal panel 2 and a light guide plate 4 guiding the illuminating light of the fluorescent tube 3 to the back surface 2a of the panel 2; the fluorescent tube 3 is constituted of two fluorescent tubes 3a and 3b whose fluorescent color to the panel 2 is different from each other and a changeover switch 5 is equipped for selectively lighting the fluorescent tubes 3a and 3b. Since a light source is constituted of plural light sources whose illuminating light color to the liquid crystal panel is different from each other, the backlight color desired by a user is selected from plural backlight colors by lighting the respective light sources at the time of illuminating with the backlight color, and the back surface of the liquid crystal panel is illuminated with the backlight color different from each other. |
