PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the range by which a character recognition window covers other windows and to lessen the difficulty of seeing due to mutual interference between windows of application on a display screen by making an arbitrary part in a character recognition window transparent and display. SOLUTION: In an input display part 1, user interfaces of a multiwindow system, e.g. a window 12 of a word processor and a window 11 for handwritten character recognition are displayed. The majority of the character recognition window 11 is made transparent and displayed. Namely, many parts of the character recognition window 11 except its frame line 19 and function buttons 16 are made transparent and the word processor window 12 behind it is visible. Consequently, for example, ruled lines 18 in the word processor window 12 are invisible behind the recognition character frame 13, but visible without being hidden behind an ink data input frame 15.
|
