PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent distance measuring errors from occurring due to a dielectric absorbing phenomenon of an integrating capacitor by giving a direction for distance measuring operation before the actual operation beings to electrically charge the integrating capacitor of a double integration means. SOLUTION: When a main switch 7 of a camera has been changed over and a shift to a standby position for photographing has been detected, a CPU 6 starts the operation of measuring a distance and an integrating capacitor in a double integration circuit 5 beings to be charged. Hence, the charging of the integrating capacitor is accomplished during a series of distance measuring operations. Then, in the photographing operations, that is, when a first stroke switch 8 of the camera is turned on and a distance measuring start signal is outputted form the CPU 6, the charging of the integrating capacitor in the double integration circuit 5 is started. In the distance measuring operation which is started after the first stroke switch 8 for starting a photographing operation is turned on, the integrating capacitor is already charged. Thus, the charging of the integrating capacitor in the actual distance measuring operation will not be affected by any dielectric absorbing phenomenon thereby causing no distance measuring error. |
