PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost optical transmission system by using a passive light star coupler. SOLUTION: An optical fiber 31 connected to FTTH is connected to an optical subscriber's line network device (ONU) 11. ONU 11 is connected with an optical star coupler 100, installed on a first floor through the optical fiber 32. The coupler 100 is connected with an optical star coupler 200 installed on a second floor in cascade connection using an optical fiber 33 and connected with a personal computer 21, etc., which is placed on the first floor through optical fibers 34 to 37. The coupler 200 is connected with a DVD 25, etc., placed on the second floor through optical fibers 38 to 40. These couplers 100 and 200 are passive optical star couplers, which do not require power source from the outside. |
