PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk on which fine ruggedness having <20 nm, further <10 nm machining depth and <=±5% dispersion thereof and especially having side walls to be machined of slant or curved face is efficiently formed. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk has a texture structure with fine ruggedness for reducing friction between a disk W and a head and for controlling floating quantity of the head on a disk W surface. In a manufacturing method of this magnetic disk, a shield 22 having a prescribed pattern shape is installed between the disk W surface to be machined and an energy beam source 18, the disk W is irradiated, while rotating, with energy beams from an oblique direction, thereby the surface to be machined is transferred with the pattern shape of the shield 22 thereon to make the machined side wall to a slant or curved face.
