Orientating bottles being transported on conveyor

Sensors are used to determine the orientation of the bottle and if this does not match a pre-selected configuration an actuator such as a piston, airjet or water jet is activated to move the object into the desired orientation. The bottle is lifted from a position where it is resting on its main body, into a position where it is resting on at least part of its bottom side, enabling the bottle to be gripped on both sides and moved to one side. An Independent claim is also included for the apparatus used to carry out this method.
