The invention refers to a sealing system for hydrogenerators equipped with radial and axial bearings, whose cooling is ensured by gases circulating under pressure. According to the invention, the sealing system includes a main shaft (4) and an external hub (5), and is made up of some cased catches (2), inside of which some metal rings (1), both external and internal, as well as some gaskets (3) are positioned. The sealing of the space delimited by the cased catches (2) and an exterior casing (8), and in which pressurised hydrogen is circulated in order to cool a radial bearing (6) and an axial bearing (7) that support the external hub (5), is ensured by introducing pressurised oil in between the metal rings (1), and eliminating externally any oil leaks from the spaces delimited by the cased catches (2) and the metal rings (1) on the one hand, and the main shaft (4) or the external hub (5) on the other hand, the pressure at which the oil is circulated being superior to the pressure at which the hydrogen is circulated.
