The profiled rail (1) has a central profile (3) adjoined on each side by side profiles (4,5) rigidly connected together and including two clamping grooves (6,7) between them. Each of the grooves has at least three clamping edges (10,12,17,19, 11,13,18,20) which are arranged on each side of the grooves spatially offset from each other and matching in spacing the thickness of the sidewalls of the flat object so that the sidewalls (25) pushed straight into each of the grooves are automatically held. The clamping grooves can be funnel-shaped facing inwards. The clamping edges are barbed to engage behind barbs provided on the sidewalls of the object. The central and side profiles can be hollow profiled sections. The rail can be extruded from aluminium alloy. <IMAGE> |
