The regulator is used for voltage switching under load of thetappings of the regulation winding of the power transformer, thevoltage regulation being made without any interruption of theelectric supply. It has an airtight housing for the powerswitchgear which can interchangeably operate in a medium ofelectric gas (sulphur hexafluoride) or in transformer oil. Theregulator has a power switchgear fitted in a medium of electricgas (sulphur hexafluoride) in a closed, basically cylindricalmetal vessel to which it is fitted by a gas-sealed insulationcasing. The latter can take the form of an insulation cylinderwith an insulation bottom or of two coaxially fitted insulationcylinders, or an insulation plate, or a conical insulationelement. The vessel of the power switchgear, filled with electricgas, has devices for pressure control, a protection overpressuredevice and a filter for purging the electric gas. The switchgearcan also contain vacuum arc-extinguishing chambers or powersolid-state elements (thyristors, diodes, etc.) as switchingcomponents, or a combination thereof. A selector with preselectoris mounted from beneath the insulation casing housed in a metallicvessel filled with oil having a side hole and a flange which isconnected to the transformer tank. The conductors connecting theselector to the power switchgear run, gas-insulated, across theinsulation casing. The tapping wires from the regulation windingof the transformer get across the side hole of the oil-filledmetallic vessel and are directly coupled to the selector and thepreselector. As an alternative, the power switchgear vessel canhave transformer oil instead of electric gas. In anotheralternative the electric gas vessel is fitted on the cover of thetransformer, and the selector and preselector are built in the oilcavity of the transformer.
|
