PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely customize print setting information having different properties on a setting screen and to greatly lighten the setting burden on a user by controlling the movement and deletion of setting items registered by properties on various individual setting screens for a printer and controlling displays of the respective setting screens. SOLUTION: An external memory 11 stores pieces of print setting information having different properties including setting items for the printer. A CPU 1 displays print setting screens of different properties on a CRT 10 according to the respective pieces of stored setting information. Here, when the movement of a setting item on one print setting screen displayed on the CRT 10 to the other print setting screen is indicated through the dragging-and-dropping operation of a pointing device 9b, the CPU 1 receives the indicated print setting item, adds the print setting information on one screen in the external memory 11 for update, and deletes the indicated print setting item from the print setting information of the other, thereby making the pieces of print setting information consistent.
