<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit the power consumption of the console panel by varying and setting the duty ratio of a driving signal supplied to a back light according to key input to the console panel or the operation state of equipment mounted on the console panel. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 109 having a back light 112 displays the state of equipment and a CPU 103 which drives and controls the console panel where the state is displayed stores a readable program on a storage medium. The program on the storage medium is executed to detect the state of key input to the console panel, and the duty ratio of a driving signal 110 supplied to the back light 112 is varied and set according to the detected key input state. Consequently, unnecessary power supply to the back light 112 can be minimized according to the state of key input to the console panel and the life of the back light 112 can be prolonged.</p> |
