The clamp, comprising a base (1), a plate, a disc and a retaining member (4), incorporates a guide for the plate to move relative to the base, made in the form of a slot in the plate to receive a stop projecting from the base, with both the slot and stop aligned parallel to the lengthwise direction of the boot clamp. The boot clamp consists of a base, plate, disc and retaining screw, the base having a rear thrust member for the boot, and the base a retaining member (4). It has at least one guide for the plate relative to the base in the form of a slot (33) and stop with a slider to hold the plate constantly against the base. The stop can be made from an injection-molded plastic material, and the plate and retaining member made in one piece from a metal such as aluminum alloy.
