PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set whose convenience can be improved by making it possible to grasp how long this device can be used by displaying an available communication time and an available waiting time corresponding to residual capacity of the battery. SOLUTION: In this telephone set, an available time corresponding to the terminal voltage of a battery is preliminarily stored in a data storage part 13, and the terminal voltage of the battery is detected by a residual battery capacity detecting part 9. Then, when the state of the portable telephone set is a waiting state, an available waiting time corresponding to the terminal voltage of the battery and the minimum available communication time being an available communication time when the transmission output is the maximum are displayed on a reading display part 5 by referring to the data storing part 13. When the state of the portable telephone set is a communication state, the available communication time corresponding to the terminal voltage of the battery and the transmission output is displayed on the reading display part 5 by referring to the data storing part 13. |
