<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which can maintain keep communica tion quality by avoiding the occurrence of reception faults as much as possible, in spite of problems such as the reduction of communication quality which occurred in a conventional radio communication system. SOLUTION: Ordinarily, a new communication system such as CDMA exchanges signals and a reception part 102 measures the reception level of received signals. When there is an error in the received data demodulating the received signals, an error-correcting part 104 corrects the error, and when the error is frequently corrected in spite of the sufficient strength of the reception level, a discrimination part 105 outputs a mode switching signal to a control part 106. Then for this portable terminal, the control part 106 receives the input of the mode switching signal and performs switching, so as to transmit/ receive signals through a older communication system such as analog FM.</p> |
