PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light guide plate type backlight capable of raising the efficiency of the light source being a just-under light source type light (making luminance high) and thinning the light source and having reflecting and light scattering characteristics. SOLUTION: The light guide plate type backlight provided with a prism sheet 1 whose smooth surface is turned upward on its surface and utilizing the reflecting and light scattering characteristics of the sheet 1 is produced. The sheet 1 whose smooth surface is turned upward is used as the just-under light source type light singly or plurally or in combination with the conventional light diffusing plate. |
