<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fidelity of a compressed image decoded in a way of mosaic. SOLUTION: In a mosaic image compressor 600 that executes image compression artifact reduction an input image 610 is compressed by a compressor 630 and uncompressed by an uncompressor 650. A comparator 660 compares an image stored in a non-compression image storage device 620 with an uncompressed image. In the case the two images are sufficiently similar, the comparator 660 expands the compressed image into a compressed image storage device 640 to obtain a compressed output image 680.</p> |
