摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically compensate geometrical distortion linearity at an optional place on a screen by controlling a surface compensation waveform generation circuit to acquire a waveform that is needed for compensation even if the frequency of an input signal changes. SOLUTION: A control circuit 1 controls a surface compensation waveform generation circuit 2 which compensates distortion on a display screen shown on a CRT 5. The circuit 2 outputs such a signal as can perform distortion compensation at an optional position on the display screen of the CRT 5, i.e., a waveform signal that is necessary for compensation to an amplifier circuit 3. The circuit 3 amplifies current so that it can be enough to drive a distortion compensation coil 4 that is arranged near a neck part of the CRT 5. As a result the coil 4 is dynamically driven and distortion compensation at an optional place on the display screen is carried out. Thus, it is possible to acquire a high definition screen that does not have distortion linearity errors even if the frequency of an input signal changes.
