PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good image less in density irregularity by restraining the amount of developer carried to a developing area from largely fluctuating in the shaft direction of a developer carrier when the amount of the developer carried to the developing area by the developer carrier is controlled by a control member. SOLUTION: In this developing device in which the planar control member 20 is provided to face oppositely to the sleeve-like developer carrier 11 through a necessary interval in the shaft direction of the carrier 11 while the developer 2 is held on the surface of the carrier 11 and carried to the developing area opposed to an image carrier 1, which controls the amount of the developer 2 carried to the developing area by the control member 20; at least two tooth- shaped lines are provided along the shaft direction of the developer carrier 11 on the surfaces 21a and 22a of the member 20 opposed to the carrier 11, and the pitches of teeth on the two tooth-shaped lines are made to be different, at least. |
