PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable use of a normal map or the like while achieving a lower price, lighter weight and lower power consumption of a portable navigation device by providing two cursors which are arranged to be mutually mobile and orthogonal to each other to indicate the current position or the like by an intersection of the cursors. SOLUTION: After the setting of a map, when a power switch 104 is turned on, cursors 141a and 141b are automatically moved to be initialized. An arbitrary scale is varied and inputted by a cursor movement/select key of an operation button 132 and a current position/decision key is pushed to determine the scale and the distance. When a data from a GPS is effective, the current position mode of a reference point input mode is selected by a cursor movement/ select key of the operation button 132 and when the cursors 141a and 141b are moved to the current position to determine the current position, the longitude and the latitude of the current position are obtained from the GPS. Then, the distance to the destination from the current position is shown on a display panel 131 and with the movement of a user, the cursors 141a and 141b are moved according to a GPS data to show a data on the display panel 131. |
