<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the power feed state on the side of equipment to be monitored such as peripheral equipment and the connection state of a cable by using at least two signal lines of a cable for connection between a computer and peripheral equipment such as other computers. SOLUTION: The inter-equipment connection interface device 1 discriminates the power feed state of the power source of equipment to be monitored and the connection state of a cable 3 connecting equipment by 1st interface circuits 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 detecting the power feed state of the power source of the equipment 2 to be monitored by using some linen 50 of the cable 30, 2nd interface circuits 30 and 31 detecting the connection state of the cable during the use of the equipment by using other signal lines 60 of the cable, and a combination of signals detected by the 1st and 2nd interface circuits. Consequently, the simple hardware circuit can discriminate which of the power cutoff of the connection equipment and cable disconnection causes system abnormality to speedily take countermeasures against the trouble and improve the maintenance efficiency.</p> |
