Spongy material used for making scrubbing brushes and floor cleaners

Spongy material comprising at least cellulose fibres and an elastomer has honeycomb structure with cell size = 0.1-10mm and a capacity for water absorption = at least 750wt% of its dry weight. Independent claims are also included for methods for preparation of said material; and its use in household articles with sponge elements.
