PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image deterioration of a luminance component due to loop back distortion by adjusting an addition ratio of a narrowband luminance signal where loop back distortion does not occur and a broadband luminance signal that acquires high resolution when the adjustment of achromatic color subject and white balance is optimum, based on coloring quantity of the subject. SOLUTION: A narrow band luminance signal creating circuit YL 19 generates a narrow band luminance signal from an output of a colorγcompensation circuit CGAM 17. A luminance signal addition ratio arithmetic circuit YH/YLGAIN 20 generates a value of addition ratio of a broadband luminance signal and a narrowband luminance signal from a color-difference component R-G/B-G signal which is an output of a color-difference signal creating circuit C-G 18. A luminance signal adder circuit YH/YLMIX 21 increases a broadband luminance signal from a broad band horizontal lowpass filter YHLPF 13 and a narrowband luminance signal from the YL 19 by a coefficient respectively with an output value from the YH/YLGAIN, after that, adds them and generates a luminance signal. Thus, it is possible to acquire an image which does not have image deterioration due to loop back distortion.
