PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image pickup device and its method in which an image of an object that is moved or shaken at a high speed is photographed and a photographing timing of an image is fine-adjusted at a low cost. SOLUTION: When a moving object 1 is sensed by a sensor 2, the sensor 2 outputs a detection signal DR to an image pickup signal generating section 3, the image pickup signal generating section 3 outputs a shutter signal SH to a video camera 4 for a preset shutter open time T1 synchronously with the signal DT and outputs a flash trigger signal LU to a lighting source 5 for a flash timeτafter the lapse of a correction delay time from the input of the detection signal DT.
