The invention refers to a device for avoiding pedestrian accidents, used in passenger or freight transport vehicles. The device is made up of a front barrier (1) and a rear barrier (2), which can glide inside some guides (3) attached to the side wall (4) of the motor vehicle (5). The barriers can be operated by means of some cables or, by a toothed wheel (12) and a gear rack (13).
