Marginally soluble poly-quaternary ammonia salt - polydimethyl diallyl ammonium iodide - is obtained by mixing hydrous polydimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride and potassium or sodium iodide solutions at a component mole ratio of 1:1 and by separating forming deposits. Polydimethyl diallyl ammonium iodide is used for water and gas phase iodine absorption.
