Particularly, the invention relates to the use of tea pigment in production of the medicament or health food for preventing and/or treating the following diseases: altitude erythrocytosis, angiitis (such as thromboangiitis obliterans), pneumonia (particularly, pediatric pneumonia), prostatic hypertrophy, inhibition of regrowth of marrow cell in the radiative or chemical therapy for tumor, viral myocarditis, hyperuricemia, gout, diseases resulted by helicobacter pylori Goodwin et al (such as superficial gastritis, digestive ulcer), conditions associated with endothelins, diseases relating to calcium-association hormones, deafness (for example, cold deafness, abrupt deafness or abrupt tone-sensory nervous deafness), presenile encephalasthenia, dementia (such as anginodementia), physico-disorder induced by cardio- and cerebral-vascular disease, gastrointestinal conditions (for example atropaic gastritis, gastroduodenal diseases, ischemia gastrointestinal diseases caused by diabetes), oral submucosa fibrosis, cerebral infarction, leukopenia, nephrotic syndrome, fatty liver, exophthalmic goiter and cor pulmonale (like cardiac functional or respiratory failure caused by cor pulmonale).
