<p>A drip irrigation hose (20) comprises a tubular body enclosing a water supply passage (22). An external emitter (10) is attached to the outside of the tubular body. The emitter (10) comprises a front wall (12), a back wall (14), side wall (16) and a top wall (18) that define a flow regulating channel (24). The emitter further comprises an outlet (28) in at least one of the walls. The hose (20) further comprises an inlet (26) to the emitter. The inlet (26) is in fluid communication with the water supply passage (22) in the hose (20) and the flow regulating channel (24) in the emitter (10). Water flows through the water supply passage (22), through the inlet into the emitter, through the flow regulating channel (24), and out the outlet (28). The emitter (10) can further comprise a purging bulb (46) to provide a simple and efficient way for the farmer to unclog the emitter.</p> |
