A separating and sliding agent comprises a polyether which is liquid at room temperature, has a viscosity of 400-2000 mPas and is produced by adding ethylene oxide to an alcohol having more than three hydroxyl groups, in which 3-15 moles ethylene oxide are added per hydroxyl group.
