The present invention relates to a wheel-mounted floating vehicle that comprises tyres inflated at an extremely low pressure so as to apply on the ground an average pressure of between 0.008 and 0.009 MPa and to prevent the destruction of the vegetal soil layer. The ratio between the total weight of the vehicle and the product of the tyre outer diameter (D), the width (B) of the tyre profile and the number of wheels fitted with tyres ranges between 0.001 and 0.006 MPa. The ratio between the weight of each tyre and the internal volume thereof varies between 35 and 80 kg/m<3>. The radial camber of the tyre, while taking into account the internal atmospheric pressure under the action of the wheel and the tyre mass proper, represents from 15 to 45 % of the height (H) of the tyre profile. The pressure inside the tyre varies between 0.005 and 0.05 MPa. This invention is particularly intended for use in permafrost regions, in the tundra, in swamp areas, in sand deserts as well as in other regions of the planet where access is difficult.
