A hand support device (210) for use with a computer-pointing device (201) relieves repetitive motion stress and includes a top surface (212), a bottom surface (214), and a perimeter surface (216) connecting top surface (212) and bottom surface (214). Top surface (212) includes: a palm support region (220), that is an inclined planar surface; a little finger support portion (222) extending from palm support region (220); a thumb support region (224) extending from palm support region (220); a front index (226) positioned on a side (220A) of palm support region (220), and between little finger support region (222) and thumb support region (224); and a side index (228) adjacent to and extending from palm support region (220) and thumb support region (224). Bottom surface (214) facilitates sliding of hand support device (210) on a work surface. The hand support device reduces stress and risk of injuries resulted from repetitive motions by encouraging the user of a computer-pointing device to employ two fields of motion to control the pointing device. The user engages the fingers, the hand, and the wrist to make fine movements while holding the hand support device stationary. The user moves the computer-pointing device and the hand support device in unison with the arm and shoulder when making coarse movements.
