Integrated optical waveguide component manufacturing method

The method involves using a stamping die with two different microstructures joined together with their longitudinal axes aligned, used to form an integrated optical waveguide component substrate (1) with a V-shaped groove (4) leading to a waveguide channel (3) in its surface. The waveguide channel is filled with a transparent material (2), which is then hardened. The V-shaped groove holds an optical fiber secured by adhesive. The substrate may be formed by hot pressing, injection molding, or reaction molding the stamping die. An Independent claim is also given for a component manufactured using the method.
