<p>A self-releasing or break-away coupler (10) that releases in response to experiencing a predetermined load. The self-releasing coupler (10) includes a pair of jaws (42) that form a fastener. Surrounding the jaws (42) is a sleeve housing (12) that deforms in response to the predetermined load when applied to the jaws (42). That is, as the housing (12) deforms, the jaws (42) are allowed to open so as to release a fastener or connector (44) secured within the jaws (42).</p> |
