Compact hydraulic unit

A compact hydraulic unit has a ring shaped hydraulic tank (11) sealed at one end by a flange clamped to the tank. The flange carries a hydraulic pump (50) on the outside and an electric motor (95) on the inside face. The motor is held in the centre of the duct through the centre of the ring shaped tank. Radial fingers link the outer part of the mounting flange with the motor/pump mounting. This provides an air venting facility to cool the motor. The electric feed to the motor is taken through a hole through one of the radial finger. The electric feed is terminated inside a connector box (51) mounted onto the outside of the flange.
