The appliance incorporates an intermediate store (10) with at least one rinsing basin (16) for temporary storage of the material. The basin is constantly filled with water. A conveyor unit has a pick-up to lift the material from the basin and a conveyor (22) to move it from the pick-up to a mobile processing station (24). Water lifted from the basin with the material is returned after passing through processing.
