Crimping press actuator assembly

The actuator assembly includes an upper electromagnet member mounted to the frame so as to be restrained from vertical movement, e.g. the upper electromagnet member has a lower surface. A lower electromagnet member is mounted to the frame so as to be restrained from vertical movement, e.g. the lower electromagnet member has an upper surface. A central electromagnet member is disposed for vertical movement within the frame between the upper and lower electromagnet members and coupled to control movement of the ram shaft. The central electromagnet member has an upper an a lower surface. A control device is provided for controlling the magnetisation of the upper, lower and central electromagnet members so as to effect vertical reciprocating movement of the ram shaft.
