The implant, consisting of a cylinder (2) with an inner cavity for a bone graft and provisional retaining elements (7), has lateral apertures (8), each in a parallelogram shape with lengthwise edges lying parallel to the cylinder's lengthwise axis (10). The planes of the apertures' lengthwise edges lie at an angle to one another at least as great as the angle formed by radial lines connecting their edges and intersecting at the cylinder's axis, and preferably at least 70 degrees. The provisional retaining elements are in the form of external spiral threads, preferably self-tapping, and the open end of the cylinder giving access to its inner cavity is closed by a screw-in titanium stopper. Both stopper and base have an axial hole to permit identification by radiography scanning.
