Class. 89(1) A nut assembly comprises a nut body 18 with a barrel 24 having a screwedbore 28 and an outwardly and downwardly extending flange 26 therearound; and a sealing member 20 of resilient material, e:g. polyethylene, having a central aperture' 34 of smaller diameter than the bore 28, a peripheral portion 32 engaged by flange 26, and adownwardly projecting part 36 which is deformed, when the assembly is tightened against a workpiece, to seal The aperture 34 constitutes the smaller end of a frusto-conocal bore 40 in the sealing member, which seals against and locks the threads of a co-operating bolt. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 799,696.
