Use of an amino phosphinic acid derivative of formula (I) in cosmetic compositions, is new. R1 = H, alkyl or thiazolinyl; R2 = H, or alkyl optionally substituted by carboxyl, hydroxyl, amino or thiol; R3 = H, alkyl, aralkyl, acyl or acyloxy; R4 = H or alkyl; and R5 = H, OH, or alkyl.
