<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medullary space plug which can surely block bone cement so that the bone cement is not packed to the depth of the medullary space and which should desirably vanish through decomposition and absorption after hardening of the bone cement. SOLUTION: A medullary space plug comprises a chip support disk 1 inserted into the medullary space 108 and a chip pressing member 2 by which chips 3 located on the support disk 1 and packed into the medullary space are pressed against the inner surface 108a of the medullary space. When the chips 3 are supported on the support disk 1 and pressed against the inner surface of the medullary space by the pressing member 2, the chips 3 are intimately pressed against the inner surface 108a of the medullary space and fixed inside the medullary space 108, together with the pressing member 2 and the support disk 1, and thereby bone cement 105 can be blocked so that it is not packed to the depth of the medullary space 108. Desirably, the chip support disk 1 and the chip pressing member 2 are molded from a polymer having the property of being decomposed and absorbed in a living body.</p> |
