PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a trouble of ejection of an object to be sterilized out of a container by a method wherein a retaining piece is operated by an electromagnetic solenoid to engage a protrusion and the blocking of the rotation of a shaft enables the maintaining of a lid in contact with an opening of a housing container of the object to be sterilized to prevent inadvertently opening of the lid. SOLUTION: A high pressure steam is generated in a housing container 11 for an object to be sterilized to sterilize the object to be sterilized. With the generation of the high pressure steam, when the temperature in the housing container 11 for the object to be sterilized reaches 100 deg.C, for instance, an electromagnetic solenoid 37 is demagnetized based on the temperature and a pawl 41 of the retaining piece 38 lowers by the gravity of the retaining piece 38 or by an energizing force of a spring or the like. Then, the pawl 41 drops between protrusions 27 and 27 to regulate the rotation of a shaft 19. But where with the lowering of the pawl 41 of the retaining piece 38, the pawl 41 stays on the protrusion 27, turning the shaft 19 counterclockwise makes the pawl 41 drop between the protrusions 27 and 27 thereby blocking further rotation of the shaft 19. |
