PREVENTION OF POLLUTION IN VICINTIY OF DRAIN OPENING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect environment by preventing pollution in the vicinity of a drain opening. SOLUTION: A photocatalyst is applied in a pollution preventive area 20 set up on a slope face 2a, 4a including an external route in which drainage flows down. The photocatalyst in the area 20 is irradiated with sunlight through drainage 12, 14 in the daytime. The irradiated photocatalyst decomposes pollutants in drainage 12, 14. Simultaneously, microorganisms, scale, algae, and others are also decomposed to be prevented from adhering. Accordingly, microorganisms, scale, algae, and others are prevented from adhering to the external route on the slope faces 2a, 4a of a bank 2, (4) in which drainage 12, 14 flows down, enabling the maintenance of desirable environment in contrast to a conventional dirty state and also contributing to the decomposition of pollutants in the drainage 12, 14.
